So...I am finally taking the time to finish a few projects. Jared calls it 'arts and crafts' around our place (while rolling his eyes). Ha. I have really enjoyed learning how to piece and quilt over the last year or two and it is so relaxing! I have started quite a few projects, but for some reason or another, haven't exactly finished many. But, I am making good on my goal this year...not to start any new projects until the half-baked ones are completely out of the oven. So here are a couple I've finished lately (of course they are the smallest ones...I'm still working on getting up the gumption to finish the big ones). I am glad now that my mom taught me a bit about sewing when I was younger! It is really quite enjoyable!Don't look too terribly close though, because I am still learning. Most of the time I finish the project and find that I have sewn at least one piece on wrong side out (with the back of the fabric facing up). Oopsy.

I'm totally impressed! Although i don't think it would be very relaxing to me! More frustrating, cuz I never cut the squares the exact right size, then I am constantly ripping out seams, to make things match up. But this certainly makes me want to work on my "Arts and crafts"!
Love the summer table runner. My mystery one didn't turn out either. I also didn't pick colors that made the stars pop. It was a good practice piece though.
I'm very impressed. The table runners look great. I would love to learn how to quilt someday.
