Random Pictures

These are just a few random pics taken during the last month.Alex falling asleep at the table before dinner (which is unheard of for this little food lover). These were taken at about 9 pm on a rainy night-she was running around the yard in her swimsuit with her purse and her hoodie on and that was about it. But she was loving life. Such a free little spirit.
Sam and her pet rock she made a while back at school. That thing has been everywhere with her!Our little cowgirl. Isn't she stylin!
Alex has learned how to hold up 2 fingers for her age. She frequently tells us she is 4 (like Sam). Some days she's even 5. But just recently she has finally started admitted she is 2.Enjoying a yummy treat with our best friend Grace.

Ah the Sunshine!

Thank heavens it has returned (although the rain has been really great for my garden!) We celebrated with a trip to Cherry Hill with Grandma Lori and the aunties. We had a FABULOUS time. The weather was perfect and the water was warm. Sam had a really hard time leaving. We played our little hearts out.Alex & Blair chillin' in the warm sunshine.
The kiddie slide by the pirate ship was their absolute favorite. They couldn't get enough of it (the moms secretly wished there were stairs right by the slide instead of going ALL the way around). This was all we got of Davis's trip down...he would take a header about every other time he went. But he loved it!Davis & Auntie Miranda cooling off

Oh Dear

That's about all I can say. Alex had a little fight with the shoe polish..I'm not sure who won. You leave them for one minute....and, well....Isn't it lovely! Miraculously she didn't get it on anything but her skin...and it washed off pretty easy. How can you really be mad when they are so proud of their work too.

Praise to the man

  • who loves 3 opinionated, emotional, wild girls and manages to survive living with them
  • works his little buns off to give us everything we need
  • builds fabulous yago (lego) towers
  • is a super problem solver-he makes everything work like clockwork
  • serves others at all times
  • loves yard work and gardening almost as much as me
  • loves the gospel and works so hard to magnify everything in that regard
  • is phenomenally smart and a gifted teacher (of everything)
  • loves us-unconditionally
  • has a great, dry little sense of humor that cracks me up every day
  • is a wonderful example of an honorable, hardworking man who loves his family, his God, and all around him
WE LOVE YOU
I LOVE YOU.
I couldn't ask for anything better-you take the cake. Thanks for everything you do. You are fantastic and we are so blessed.

Good Old Lagoon

Every year Jared's work provides a fun day at Lagoon for everyone in the office. The girls have been anticipating the trip all week. It was a tad bit overcast when we went yesterday, but it turned out to be a lovely, sunny day by the end. We took a little trip on the train, rode lots of kiddie rides and Sam even tried a couple adult rides with me (Jared was a little chicken). We had a great time and can't wait until next year.Sam and I on one of the adult rides. She LOVED it. I think she's going to be a little daredevil.Alex waving to Sam & Dad on one of the high rides. Jared looks right at home on the kiddie rides! They were just his size! ;)

Escalante

We took a little weekend trip with my mom and my brother's family to Escalante and southern Utah. We LOVE the scenery and the fun rock formations-we are so lucky to live in a state that has such great scenic diversity! We have so much fun exploring and discovering fun new hidden places in our own backyard. Here are a few pics of our travels.Lower Calf Creek FallsMy cute mom & sisters, Jessie & SarahThe boys hanging out on the trail (waiting for the women as usual)
Alex went from fully clothed-to this in about 5 minutes flat.We had lots of fun identifying the flowers and wildlife on the trails we hiked. Sam was quite the expert by the time we were done. She loved taking her wildflower guide and discovering all the different flowers in bloom. We really had to watch her because she just couldn't help picking a few here and there!Sporting our great $5 Smith & Edwards gardening hats. I know they may look a little funny, but a little skin cancer prevention goes a long way with our fair skin and fiery hair. A little rest stop at a local park in a tiny blink-and-miss town we went through. (There was someone having a wedding right behind us, at the rodeo grounds. Yeehaw).

Finally! A Post!

Yes-I'm a slacker-it has been nearly 2 months since I posted. I just get so excited for spring and growing things that I can't be bothered with my computer. Plus with all the spring birthdays and such...who has a moment to sit! Anywho, here are a few pics from the latest events at our house:
Alex with her pretty princess barbie cake. My sister, Jessie is quite the master at cake decorating and is always great to make cool cakes at birthday time. Alex bestowing Uncle Kevin with a magic princess kiss. All dressed up-she is into everything to do with Sleeping Beauty. She stayed in this getup the rest of the night! We could barely get it off of her to go to bed.
Sam with her Butterfly cake. Again another fabulous creation by Jessie. I love how she made the body with cupcakes! So clever!Sporting stylish Aunt Britt's bag and high heels. Measuring Sam on her birthday. It has become a fun family tradition to mark the girl's height on their birthday so we can see how they grow over the years. Jared made a special board that we mounted in our laundry room to keep track of their growth. Sporting her new gardening tools and gardening hat. She is quite the little helper.
