Skills

Sam says some pretty funny things sometimes...this one was short and sweet and we all got a great laugh out of it. We have a little music group that meets once a week to sing songs, read books, etc. We were singing a song about babies, so they all had a baby. My friend was leading the song and she was telling them to use their 'skills' to move the baby's arms to do the actions for the songs. Of course Sam pops in 'I'VE GOT SKILLS!'. She was so excited to show everyone her mad 'skills' playing with the baby. What a ham.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

One of my absolute favorite holidays. I think just because I love GREEN. And maybe it is because I have red hair and a little Celtic heritage...but mostly just because of the green. So, we dressed from head to toe in it and had a lucky day! Hope you all did too.

Yay for Spring!

It is finally starting feel like spring around this place! It hit 50 degrees today and we couldn't believe how warm it felt! Wahoo. We went down to the mailbox to get the mail and ended up having some fun in the mud. The dumplings got new Wellies...so we had to try them out! The girls had a blast jumping in puddles and making mud pies. Thank heavens the snow is finally melting and melting fast! We are ready for spring!

Arts & Crafts

So...I am finally taking the time to finish a few projects. Jared calls it 'arts and crafts' around our place (while rolling his eyes). Ha. I have really enjoyed learning how to piece and quilt over the last year or two and it is so relaxing! I have started quite a few projects, but for some reason or another, haven't exactly finished many. But, I am making good on my goal this year...not to start any new projects until the half-baked ones are completely out of the oven. So here are a couple I've finished lately (of course they are the smallest ones...I'm still working on getting up the gumption to finish the big ones). I am glad now that my mom taught me a bit about sewing when I was younger! It is really quite enjoyable!Don't look too terribly close though, because I am still learning. Most of the time I finish the project and find that I have sewn at least one piece on wrong side out (with the back of the fabric facing up). Oopsy.
Summer table runner-I love the bright colors of this fabric!
Mom & I started this table runner a while back. I am so glad it is finished. This is probably one of my very favorite lines of fabric right now. The colors are so vibrant and fun! This was a mystery tablerunner I did. Not my best project...I should have picked a better fabric for the stars...so they pop out more. But alas, live and learn.

The Treehouse Museum

I finally uploaded some recent pictures. Our most recent exciting adventure was with Brittney & Spencer and the twins at a place called the Treehouse Museum. We grabbed a bite to eat and played the whole night! It was a blast. The girls couldn't get enough of all the fun play areas! They especially loved the music area. Alex was big into playing house, and Sam had a blast with the trains. We were so excited to spend time with our cousins and are so glad they invited us down for some time together! It was a little tough to get a picture of everyone. Alex was not being a team player for a group photo. Alas...how can you stand still with so many fun things to do!
